These are beautiful!!! (I'm including your previous post in that statement.) And such a wonderful departure from your other work. Very cool stylization! I see from your web site that they're personal projects...are they from stories? Is there more????
Can't wait to see what's next. Oh, and welcome to blogdom!
Thanks guys. I really appreciate you stopping by and leaving a comment. It makes me want to do better work now.
-Nathan ....Then I'll just have to get you back on the next sequel. Hahaha...heh.........uh :(
-Arree Thanks for the intro post on your blog.
-Paul Lasaine Hi Paul, Thanks for the comment. I've been a huge fan of your work for a long time now and I heard so many great things about you and your teachings through co-workers like Yoriko Ito, Ruben Hickman, and Nathan Fowkes. When I started working on the Madagascar sequel last year it made me start thinking of new ways to stylize my own work. The majority of the paintings I will be putting on this blog will be an exploration of stylization, I hope. So far these images are nothing from actual stories, just quick random ideas but I will revisit some of these concepts later on because they were so much fun to paint.
Thanks Sorrentino! To get my textures I play with the brush controls on photoshop a lot. After selecting my brush I increase the spacing and angle jitter and that's usually good enough.
Hey Erwin, I love these pieces. And I do love all your work. But these 2 man, if this was getting made into a film...be unreal.Just wanted to comment on your great work.
